When we started drinking green smoothies, we wanted to work out. It was something we desired and finally had the energy to do. Now, between the two of us, we do dancing, yoga, running, kettlebells, boxing, jumping rope, and biking. Working out makes us feel stronger, confident, and more alive. Green smoothies are the rawkstar fuel that gets our bodies moving. How will you move today?
“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live in.”
Oh, this smoothie is a good one! It’s full of iron, potassium, and vitamin C. Use prepackaged mixed berries or pick your favorites. With the addition of berries, you’ll get a more red or purple hue that makes this recipe picky-eater approved.
- 2 cups spinach
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cup berries (such as blueberries, raspberries, blackberries) *
- 2 bananas *
- Blend the spinach and almond milk until smooth.
- Add the berries and bananas and blend again.
Advice: Not a fan of berry seeds? Blend the berries and your liquid base together first. Then pour this liquid through a mesh sieve. Pour back into the blender, add the remaining ingredients, and blend again.
Did you know?
Bananas are one of our favorite fruits to add to green smoothies. They are a natural sweetener and up the cream factor by a gazillion. But that’s not all—bananas pack a punch with potassium, amino acids, and complex carbs. So blend up some bananas and you’ll have younger-looking skin, a healthy gut, and energy galore. Start peeling!
